Update on John Nzira 17th August 2011

I recently had the honour and pleasure of interviewing Mr. Nzira for the Business Day Health News (see article below). I was so inspired by John's work, which I believe is invaluable in the country, and this crazy world we live in. I was also humbled by his attitude to life and his shining humanitarianism. It seems so unfair that a man like this should fall victim to violent crime. John is, thankfully, doing OK, but is in need of some financial help so that he can continue his very important work. I'd prefer not to get into gory details, but John and his family were robbed and John was shot multiple times in the arm and shoulder. He has been taken to Tembisa hospital and needs several operations. It seems that John as not had adequate funding this year for his projects and so has been in some financial trouble for a number of months. It is unlikely that John will be fit to work for a number of months to come and ongoing funding will be needed.
John has requested that if anyone is interested in setting permaculture projects up for the future, he would be most appreciative
